A public notice has been issued regarding two watercraft that have been abandoned for more than 60 days at the Cape Charles Yacht Center.
According to the notice, both vessels are located on the property of Cape Charles Yacht Center, operated by Cape Charles Marina LLC, at 1011 Bayshore Road in Cape Charles. The marina can be contacted at 757-250-2913.
One of the abandoned vessels is a 63-foot Herd & MacKenzie North Sea Trawler, built in 1962. The vessel is described as brown wood in color, with a build number of 196. A hull identification number is not available.
The second vessel is a 30-foot Betrem boat, built in 1979. It is white in color, with hull identification number BERH1067M79K-33479.
If the watercraft are not claimed and removed within 30 days of the first publication of this notice, applications for watercraft registration and title will be made in accordance with Section 29.1-733.25 of the Code of Virginia.
Individuals with questions regarding the process are advised to contact the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.
