NOTICE FROM TOWN OF CAPE CHARLES – Advisory: The Town of Cape Charles Beach is Open.
The town of Cape Charles public beach is open, other than the north end, in the area of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ dredging/sand placement site. The town did respond last night to a visitor to the beach who came into contact with an unidentified object in the water off the town beach. Following the investigation, and finding nothing of concern, the beach reopened around 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
In order to investigate this object, the town beach was closed from 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31.
The town of Cape Charles apologizes for any inconvenience to our residents and visitors because of this investigation to ensure the public’s safety.
Mosquito Spraying – will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, 8/31, beginning at the golf courses and ending at 11 p.m. in the Historic District.
In case of inclement weather, the spraying will be done on Thursday, September 1st.
