The third running of the Redneck Romp 10 miler and 5K took place on November 26, 2016, at Powell Memorial Park, in Wachapreague, VA. The cool breezy temps didn’t damper the enthusiasm as 178 runners and walkers participated that ranged in age from 6 to 83. Participants included locals and runners from NC, MD, DE, PA, NJ, NY. This event is held annually to raise awareness for responsible disposal of waste and to promote local business and tourism.
The winners of the 10 miler were Robert Dinterman from Moyock, NC and Mardiny Ung from Elizabethtown, PA.
The winners of the 5K were Steven Armitage from Norfolk, VA and Natalie Leatherbury from Va Beach, VA.
