1 thought on “WHY COMMENT ON THE MIRROR?

  1. Comments are great! There is far more wisdom among the ordinary citizens than in all of Washington, New York, Richmond and the local governing boards.

In the days prior to the American Revolution the discussions tended to be mostly local and occurred in the taverns while likely enjoying a cold draft beer & throwing darts. At times we visited a small tavern, below grade level for natural air conditioning, in Martinsberg, NJ with a few hotel rooms upstairs, once owned by my uncle’s father, & there was a fireplace with a rifle hanging over it, and I could picture Minute Men sitting & talking & ready to go after the Red Coats. Down the road from me there is a historic site, The Bear & the Cub, where the 1st stage play in America took place and with the proud history of these two county’s in breaking from Englad you can bet there were heated arguments there!

The general consensus must have been that the KING had to go and that taxation without representation was evil. How many of us now feel that we are represented in the halls of government? Apparently not mant with the rise of Trump, Carson, Carly & Bernie.

I give great credit to George & Wayne and to the WAVE & MIRROR for publishing comments which may be contrary to their personal views or to the happenings in local government & letting the chips fall where they may. Journalism is supposed to be a “watch dog” while most media are “lap dogs” and ever so PC.
