The Northampton County Education Foundation (NCEF) sponsored a luncheon for newly hired Northampton Public School teachers at the Barrier Island Center on August 13. The purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity for the 15 elementary and 5 secondary teachers, most of whom are new to the Eastern Shore, to experience one of the Shore’s premier local museums and to hear about how the Northampton County Education Foundation supports the county’s public education system. Linda Schulz, NCEF chair welcomed the new teachers and provided an overview of the Northampton County Education Foundation’s programs available to teachers, including continuing education and classroom grants. Crosby Johnson, board member and treasurer, presented the group of newly arrived educators with a Visa gift card on behalf of the Foundation.
Chair Schulz, said, “This was a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together to welcome our new teachers. We wish all Northampton County teachers a great start to the 2018/2019 school year.”
The NCEF is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to engage the community and mobilize resources to promote student performance and excellence in teaching in our public schools.
