Northampton and Broadwater lost tough matches on Friday and Saturday, however both games were more competitive than the scores indicate. Windsor High School, always a solid opponent defeated Northampton 36-14. The Yellow Jackets tested both sides of the Windsor squad, but it was late turnovers in or near the red zone that proved their undoing. The Jackets record falls to 1-3. Northampton travels to King & Queen Central on Friday, September 25 @ 7pm.
Although Broadwater started fast with an opening drive for a touchdown, the speed, power and accurate passing attack of Greenbriar proved to be too much for the Vikings. With 36 points in the 2nd quarter, Greenbriar took a 42-14 lead into halftime. Broadwater never conceded however, and outscored Greenbriar in the 3rd quarter. Despite a strong effort, Broadwater fell by a final score of 63-40. Broadwater falls to 2-3, but with only one divisional loss.
This Friday, Broadwater travels to Arcadia for a 7:00 kickoff.
In other Shore action, James M. Bennett defeated Nandua 19-12, National Christian Defeated Chincoteague 38-0 and Arcadia defeated Snow Hill by a score of 21 to 12.
