Cape Charles Councilwoman Cela Burge has been nominated by the Eastern Shore of Virginia Bar Association to replace Judge Croxton Gordan as the Juvenile and Domestic Relations judge for Accomack and Northampton counties. Gordon recently announced his retirement.
Burge received 24 out of 30 votes at the association’s meeting this month. Judges in Virginia state courts are appointed by the General Assembly.
Burge is also the county attorney for Accomack.
