Joe Biden won the Democratic primary in Virginia on Tuesday night, reaping the benefits of endorsements from a majority of the state’s party leaders and top lawmakers. While Bernie Sanders drew large, enthusiastic crowds, Biden scored a victory by 30 points.
With 100% of precincts reporting, the former vice president handily defeated Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont by 30 percentage points. Biden and Sanders, as well as former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, made huge plays for Virginia, which has become a significant part of the electoral math for Democrats since President Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 election. But Biden swept the state by winning every county except for one. Sanders narrowly won Floyd County as well as the cities of Charlottesville and Harrisonburg.
The Eastern Shore was indicative of what happened across the state. In Accomack County Biden received 2,026 votes or 61%. Sanders was second with 598 or 18% of the vote. Bloomberg was third with 374 or 11.3% and Elizabeth Warren received 173 or 5.3%.
In Northampton it was Biden winning with 1,150 or 64% of the votes cast. Sanders was second with 284 or 16%. Bloomberg was third with 227 or 13% and Elizabeth Warren received 83 or 4.6% of the local votes.

Just wondering if the Governor’s daughters are attending Richmond Public schools, now that they live in the city.
