On March 4, 2021, Councilman Bannon tendered his resignation from the Cape Charles Town Council.
Thursday, the council approved a resolution that would allow the town to petition for a special election to fill Bannon’s seat.
The next scheduled election is November 2nd 2021. The town will petition the Northampton
County Circuit Court to schedule a special election to coincide with the November 2, 2021 general election.
