June Monthly Statistics for the Cape Charles Police Department is led by a felony arrest for shooting in a public place, brandishing a firearm, reckless handling a firearm, and malicious shooting. This stems from a June 25th incident in Marina Villages. Tyler Charnock of Cheriton has been charged.
There were 15 Misdemeanor Arrests logged for Assault & Batter family member, DUI, ignoring an Emergency Protective Order, Assault and Battery, and making a threat over the phone.
The CCPD also answered 121 calls for service in Cape Charles and 9 calls outside of town. The force Assisted Northampton County Sheriff’s Office 6 times.
84 Traffic Summons were issued, including 50 written and verbal warnings. 57 Parking tickets were issued in June.
42 Foot Patrol hours were logged, including 18 hours of patrol in Bay Creek. 20 building checks also took place.
In other June activities, the CCPD conducted 3 active shooter training classes for town staff and installed a new security camera (location not specified).
