WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Elaine Luria today issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to advance the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework and President Biden’s Build Back Better Plan:
“I strongly support the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, which will ensure Hampton Roads can fully recover from the economic setbacks caused by the pandemic and put Virginians back to work. This important legislation will provide generational investments rebuilding our roads and bridges, strengthening the Port of Virginia, and protecting against rising sea levels — while creating thousands of good-paying jobs.
“I also voted today on a procedural motion to allow congressional committees to begin crafting legislation that will deliver on key priorities such as lowering health care costs, addressing climate change, providing additional Pre-K funding, and cutting taxes for working families. I hope to work closely with my colleagues in the House and Senate to craft targeted legislation that can pass both chambers.”
