Local Cape Charles resident Palmer Smith is the new Conservation Technician for the Eastern Shore Soil & Water Conservation District. Palmer grew up here in Cape Charles and graduated from Broadwater Academy.
In high school, Smith was a member of Envirothon, attended the Youth Conservation Camp at Virginia Tech, and was awarded the 2018 Conservation Student of the Year by ESSWCD.
Palmer attended Virginia Tech and graduated with a double-degree in Crop and Soil Science, and Poultry Science. She graduated in May 2022.
