FOSTERS URGENTLY NEEDED: One of our partner shelters here on the Eastern Shore, Queen Anne’s County Animal Services last week took in 22 rabbits in a single day surrendered by one person. We immediately took in four, and we can transfer more if we have foster families. QACAS is doing the best they can with this overwhelming situation. These rabbits lived outdoors in cramped hutches, multiple rabbits in each hutch, and fights between bunnies apparently broke out because several have bite wounds. It’s a given that they were not provided with a good diet and some were matted so much they needed to be sedated in order to shave the mats off.

Also, we will likely have some pregnant females in this bunch. ESRREC will cover the costs of appointments with a rabbit-savvy vet, spay/neuter, and vaccination. NOTE: Foster rabbits must be kept indoors. FOSTER APPLICATION ONLINE HERE http://esrrec.org/foster
