The Cape Charles wastewater plants treated an average of 133,274 gallons a day during the week of October 27th, using the most on 10/24/23 –158,773 gallons.
Utility staff continued routine maintenance on the plant and collection system. Currently, all plant and lift stations are operating smoothly. At the Water Plant, utility staff repaired a water leak resulting from a contractor hitting several water lines in Bay Creek and also installed several sewer valves and water meters for new construction projects around town. Staff held a meeting with Terry Miller from Virginia American Water.
Utility staff assisted Pioneer Construction in the replacement of diffuser aerators in train one at the Water Plant. Other notes:
- Daily water quality testing and analysis were conducted.
- The Water Treatment Plant operated for 81.25 hours with an average daily operation of 11.6 hours.
- A total of 1,099,700 gallons were produced, with approximately 115,000 gallons used for processes.
- The average daily production was 157,100 gallons, reaching a peak of 183,400 on 10/20/23.
