Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled a seminar, “Tick Talk for the Shore: A Discussion of Species, the Diseases They Carry, and Prevention”. The free 90-minute seminar will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 12 in Room 148 of the Academic (the most Westerly) Building of Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.
Dr. Marilyn Ailes will discuss the species of ticks commonly found here, the recognition and relative prevalence of diseases they vector, and some prevention ideas.
Ailes was among the first people hired when the Navy came to Wallops Island. Her task was to keep the local wildlife from eating the sailors. Among the most dangerous; our local ticks!

They didn't slow it down for farm machinery over the last 80 years.
Understood. I concur.
