CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Town Council and Planning Commission convened for a joint work session to review and discuss several key updates to the town’s zoning ordinances. The session included a staff report by Katie Nunez, focusing on new sections drafted as a result of prior work sessions.

a. Staff Report – Draft Zoning Ordinance Review
- Proposed Revisions to Sign Ordinance: Review of updated regulations regarding signage within the town.
- Industrial Zoning Districts & Harbor-related Districts Revision & Zoning Map Amendments: Consideration of changes to industrial and harbor-related zoning districts, including amendments to the zoning map.
- Definitions: No changes proposed; review of current definitions.

- Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act Revisions: Katie Nunez will meet with state staff in June 2024 to review the town’s current ordinance in light of new state requirements.
