EXMORE, Va. — Congresswoman Kiggans will visit the Eastern Shore of Virginia Broadband Authority (ESVBA) on Monday, August 5, for a check presentation and facility tour. This visit marks the allocation of $286,000 in federal funding secured by Kiggans earlier this year through the FY24 Appropriations bill. The funds are designated for the construction of fiber optic cables in several remote areas of the Eastern Shore.
The event will begin at 1 PM and is expected to conclude by 2 PM. During the visit, Kiggans will present the check and tour the ESVBA facility, highlighting the importance of expanding broadband access to underserved communities.
The presentation and tour will take place at the Eastern Shore of Virginia Broadband Authority, located at 4174 Lankford Hwy, Exmore, VA 23350. The funding aims to improve connectivity and support economic growth in the region by enhancing internet infrastructure.
