CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Town Council has selected Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP to assist with recruitment services over the next two years, citing the firm’s qualifications, prior work, and familiarity with staffing placements in Virginia. The contract, approved at a council meeting, includes two years of service with the option to extend for three additional one-year terms.
Under the agreement, the Town of Cape Charles will negotiate individual engagements for each vacancy that arises, with the flexibility to customize the scope and fee based on the specific needs of each position. The contract gives the town the sole discretion to determine when an engagement is necessary.
Along with the broader contract approval, the council also authorized the first engagement under the agreement: the recruitment of a new town manager. The current town manager is expected to retire in May 2025. The scope of this initial engagement is comprehensive and includes certain guarantees outlined in the contract documents. The cost for this first phase of recruitment is set at $26,950.
