KIPTOPEKE STATE PARK, Va. — Bird enthusiasts and nature lovers are invited to join an exciting field trip to the Kiptopeke Hawk Watch-Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory on Thursday, Nov. 7. Organized by the Eastern Shore Bird Club, the event will begin at 8:00 a.m., with participants meeting at the Hawk Watch Platform parking lot in Kiptopeke State Park.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to observe a wide variety of later migrating raptors, including accipiters and falcons. Experienced birders and guides Paul Anderson and Roberta Kellam will lead the excursion, offering expert insight into the migratory patterns and behaviors of these fascinating birds of prey.

The Hawk Watch is a seasonal highlight for bird watchers, as the park’s coastal location makes it an ideal vantage point for observing raptors traveling southward along the Atlantic Flyway. For more details or to RSVP, contact Paul Anderson at 704-456-5588.
