Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled a seminar, “Measuring and Managing the Shore’s Groundwater.”
The free 90-minute seminar will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 7 in Room 148 of the Academic Building (the most westerly) of Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.
Sue Mastyl will discuss the Shore’s finite groundwater resource. She will describe our shallow and deep aquifers, recharge rates, the permitting process, and the role of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Ground Water Committee.
Mastyl is a retired Medical Writer; she and her husband, Bill, retired to Harborton 18 years ago. She is a member of the ESVA Ground Water Committee.

Science and Philosophy Seminar is an informally organized group that meets more or less regularly to explore and discuss a wide array of topics, ranging from philosophical speculation to scientific research. All Seminars are open to the public. Admission is free.
