CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Town of Cape Charles is inviting contractors to submit bids for the second phase of its Harbor boardwalk reconstruction project. The upcoming work includes demolition and rebuilding of approximately 4,560 square feet of boardwalk along the town’s waterfront.
Bids will be accepted at Cape Charles Town Hall, located at 2 Plum Street, until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. At that time, all bids will be publicly opened and read.
Contractors interested in submitting a proposal can obtain full project details in the official Invitation for Bid (IFB) package. The IFB is available online or can be picked up in person at the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall.
Town officials note that the municipality reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities. Late submissions will not be considered and will be returned unopened.
This project is part of Cape Charles’ ongoing efforts to upgrade infrastructure at the Town Harbor and enhance its appeal to residents and visitors alike.
But mainly visitors. We are already taxing the hell out of the residents
Do you really want “THEM” to live in CC ?
Not sure about “THEM”, but definitely don’t want “YOU”.
Wayne, is there any option to view the Mirror in weekly chronological order? The way your website is now, I select one of the stories, then back up to the start of the week by clicking the article at the lower left of the screen. Otherwise I don’t know whether I missed a story.
Also, how does one comment on the general flavor without connecting to an article?
I’m definitely not a luddite, but still can’t seem to figure out these two questions.
Editor’s Note: Pat, that’s a good idea, but I think I will need to code custom page that groups stories by week…I’ll look into it. To comment on anything, at the top of the page, click on ‘RANT & RAVE’. You leave general comments there (not many folks have used this).
