CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The New Roots Youth Garden will host a special Native American Pow Wow on July 24 as part of its ongoing Summer Garden Club series for children ages 5 to 13.
Scheduled from 5 to 6:15 p.m., the event will feature interactive cultural experiences designed to engage young participants in Indigenous traditions, storytelling, and dance. A flyer for the program shows children holding hands with Native American presenters, emphasizing the event’s hands-on and inclusive nature.
The garden club session will take place outdoors and is weather permitting. Organizers recommend children wear sunscreen and note that closed-toe shoes are required for participation.
“We’re excited to offer this unique cultural opportunity as part of our summer series,” said organizers from New Roots Youth Garden. “It’s a fun and meaningful way for children to learn through nature and community.”
