Reporting directly to the Harbor Master, this position performs manual and semi-skilled labor and maintenance to maintain the harbor grounds and facilities. The Maintenance Assistant also assists boaters on the docks and at the fuel pumps as well as performing administrative tasks as required. This position requires basic skills in routine/minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs. Experience in the Trades is preferred with a proven work history in general maintenance. Familiarity with boats is a plus. Administrative skills such as using a computer, answering the phone and the ability to work well and communicate clearly with harbor customers are required. The Maintenance Assistant supports the Harbor Master and Assistant Harbor Master when needed. OSHA 10 certification and/or a boater’s license is a plus.
This is a full-time non-exempt hourly position eligible for overtime with a generous benefit package, including VRS, paid Holidays and PTO. The hiring range, DOQ, is $17-18/hour, depending on experience.
