CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Cape Charles Town Manager Rick Keuroglian produced a series of updates in his last staff report reflecting a busy schedule of community engagement, infrastructure planning, and financial oversight.
The Town Manager attended the Citizens for Central Park board meeting to remain informed on ongoing park initiatives and met with Love Inc. to discuss ways to support local nonprofits and faith-based service programs.
A meeting was also held with one of the new Bay Creek owners and their team to discuss shared community goals.
In other matters, the Town Manager consulted with the Virginia Resources Authority about financing strategies for the railroad property and conferred with the town appraiser and Planning Director to review the property’s appraisal and next steps.
On the infrastructure front, Special Projects Manager Bob Panek joined the Town Manager to review the costs and benefits of purchasing a 5–6-stall bathroom trailer versus pursuing a lease option for 11 Peach St.
The Town Manager also met with the town’s HR Director to discuss staffing matters and engaged the Town Treasurer to improve oversight of the IT budget, aiming to establish real-time budget tracking ahead of the mid-year review.
Consultations with the town’s IT contractor addressed system issues and technology needs for the temporary Town Office relocation. Additionally, the Town Manager brought in a financial advisor to discuss long-term advisory services and cost projections for future municipal projects.
