SB727 just passed the General Assembly and is now headed to the Governor. A bill to prohibit transporting AR15’s.
The substitute passed on SB727 removes the word “loaded.” That means the prohibition now applies to any qualifying firearm — loaded or unloaded — on any public street, road, sidewalk, or place open to the public.
Read that again.
Under the plain text of this bill, a law-abiding Virginian driving to a gun range with an unloaded AR-15 in their car could be committing a Class 1 misdemeanor. Read the Full Bill Here.

This bill doesn’t target criminals. It criminalizes ordinary gun owners. Democrats passed not one bill to penalize criminals who misuse firearms – and have now locked in on telling Virginians that if they simply put their AR15 in the car to go target shooting – they will go to jail for up to 1 year.
This is the first test for the Governor to show us who she is.

Stu Stu and I actually agree for once.
