  1. I am looking forward to my visit to Cape Charles this July. The Lunch and Learn event at which I will discuss Portrait of a Town, Cape Charles, 1940-1960 is scheduled for July 2nd, not the 22nd. Please publish the correct date, as the Friends of the Cape Charles Memorial are putting a great deal of effort into planning the luncheon and deserve good attendance.

My family and I will be vacationing in Cape Charles from July 2 to July 9. It is always fun to come back: to have breakfast at the Cape Charles Coffee House; eat ice cream at the Brown Dog; lunch overlooking the bay at The Shanty; catch the local color when having a sandwich at Rayfield’s Pharmacy; dine at the Hookup Gourmet; have cocktails while enjoying the sunset at the Oyster Farm; take an evening stroll around town; visit the galleries, and so much more.
