Atlantic Union Bank Executives Maria Tedesco and Natalie Grubbs Named Virginia Business Women in Leadership Honorees

RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 7, 2026 — Atlantic Union Bank announced that President and Chief Operating Officer Maria Tedesco and Chief Information Officer of Consumer and Business Banking Natalie Grubbs have been named recipients of Virginia Business’ Women in Leadership awards, recognizing two executives whose leadership has helped guide the bank through a period of significant growth, integration and transformation.

The recognition highlights the depth of leadership across Atlantic Union Bank and the important role women leaders are playing in advancing the company’s growth, customer experience and Teammate culture. The Women in Leadership awards recognize professionals across Virginia who demonstrate exceptional leadership, professional achievement and a commitment to mentoring others. 

Tedesco was also named an inaugural Rising Circle honoree, a distinction that recognizes two-time Women in Leadership recipients. She first received the award in 2021 for her leadership in launching the Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN), an employee program founded in 2019 to empower women and advance inclusive practices across the bank. During her tenure with Atlantic Union Bank, Tedesco has helped drive significant growth, with the bank’s asset base increasing from approximately $9.3 billion in 2018 to $38.1 billion in July 2026. She has helped make Atlantic Union Bank an award-winning workplace by investing in Teammate development and creating more leadership opportunities across the organization.

Grubbs earned her recognition for her leadership during Atlantic Union Bank’s acquisition of Sandy Spring Bank. She guided her team through the transition to a new online and mobile banking platform, modernizing the bank’s digital infrastructure, all while managing the complexity of the conversion of Sandy Spring Bank.
