The stock market “suffered one of the Worst Days in History” on Thursday, a day after it surged following Democrats’ sweeping victories in the midterm elections.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average went up by 1,104 points on Wednesday after the opening bell. But on Thursday, it dropped by more than 2,100 points from the opening bell and closed down by 1,833 points relative to the day before.
“The Stock Market crashed today because the Dumocrats had a big Tuesday — So sad to see, you only have yourselves to blame!” Trump wrote on Truth Social late Thursday.
In a subsequent post, the president said the stock market “suffered one of the Worst Days in History based on the results of the Election.”
A Note on Fuel Costs – Oil went from $104.12 on October 30th to $88.80 on November 6th (and going lower). It seems like the Exchange in London may have been keeping it artificially high for so reason. Go figure…Gas is selling for under $3 a gallon in multiple states. For months the public was told high prices were permanent, caused by foreign conflicts, corporate greed, or irreversible market forces. The same stations that posted $4 and $5 a gallon are now posting $2.45 to $2.96. Domestic production increased. Regulatory pressure eased. The price responded. The drop arrived after the election, not before it. Voters were asked to accept high prices as the cost of the previous agenda. The numbers on the signs today show what happens when that agenda loses. The manipulation was the claim that nothing could change. The price already has.
“Such a sad thing to watch! It took so much work to get us to a level that no one has ever seen before, and then this,” he continued. “Remember, it wasn’t Republicans, it was Dumocrats. Do not fear, however, we will soon, one way or the other, be BIGGER AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE.”
The Nasdaq composite and S&P 500, up on Wednesday by more than 500 and 120 points, respectively, also tanked by roughly 1,422 points and 335 points on Thursday.
Trump on Friday touted artificial intelligence — which he has sought to rebrand as “superintelligence” — and its potential economic impact.
“As President, I am 100% in favor of Super Intelligence (SI), and will work with the many States in the U.S. that want to become RICH by having them,” he wrote on Truth Social, likely referring to expanding AI data centers.
He added, “They are GOLD, and only foolish leadership will say ‘NO’ to the riches they bring!”
