CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Board of Zoning Appeals held a public hearing and meeting Tuesday to consider an appeal filed by Greg and Emily Gentry regarding a zoning determination for their property at 542 Jefferson Avenue.
The appeal challenges a February 4, 2025, decision issued by the town’s zoning administrator. Zoning determinations typically clarify how town zoning ordinances apply to a particular property, and appeals allow property owners to contest those interpretations if they believe an error was made.
After a brief discussion, the Board voted to table the Gentrys’ appeal to allow time for consultation with the Town Manager and Town Attorney. Officials said additional legal and administrative input is needed before the Board can make a final decision.
The Board plans to reconvene on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. to continue deliberations on the matter.
