The Cape Charles Town Council held a public hearing on Thursday regarding the application to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for grant funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Virginia Funding Opportunities for COVID-19 Response.
The COVID-19 Relief funding could provide critical monies for our businesses that have been impacted by the coronavirus.
Several businesses voiced approval of the application, including Moonrise Jewelry, Seagrass Floral, and Love Letters.
All voiced concerns that the shutdown had severely impacted their businesses. The lack of foot traffic, and a shortened tourist season has taken a toll.
In the case of Sea Grass, which uses wedding and events as its main source of income, the shutdown has been devastating.
Each business owner noted that the relief funds are critical, and could mean the difference between staying open, shutting down for good.
Town Council will vote on the measure at next Thursday’s Regular Meeting.
I believe JD Vance would disagree with you.
There are only two genders. Period.
Because its easier to beat one charge than two. You're 100% correct, there should be two charges.
