Cape Charles Councilwoman Tara Ashworth Hosts “Coffee and Chat” Meetup
CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Residents had a chance to sit down with Cape Charles Councilwoman Tara Ashworth on Thursday, Aug. 21, for an informal “Coffee and Chat” at the Cape Charles Coffee House.
The event, held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., invited community members to share coffee and conversation with Ashworth and Clayton Newman. Attendees were encouraged to discuss ongoing town initiatives or bring up any other topics of concern.
Ashworth said the meet-up was aimed at fostering open communication between elected officials and residents in a relaxed, accessible setting. “This is a chance for people to speak directly with us, ask questions, and share their ideas for the town,” she said.
The “Coffee and Chat” format reflects a growing trend among local officials nationwide to connect with constituents outside of formal council chambers.

Don’t Drink The Coffee!!
Is there anyone who was present at Councilperson Ashcroft’s coffee hour in Bay Creek last week?
It is important to make sure she is saying the same thing in the Historic District that she is telling her neighbors behind the gates.
