CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Town Manager recently met with the Zoning Administrator to review the town’s contract with the Berkley Group, focusing on three key work orders that will guide future planning and development efforts.
The work orders include a comprehensive site assessment, community engagement, and strategic planning initiative; development of a Harbor Area Master Plan; and on-call planning and zoning services with an emphasis on grant support.
Town officials say the collaboration with the Berkley Group is intended to strengthen Cape Charles’ long-term planning capabilities while addressing immediate needs. The site assessment and strategic planning process will help identify priorities for growth and preservation, while the Harbor Area Master Plan is expected to provide a detailed roadmap for improvements in one of the town’s most vital assets.
The on-call planning and zoning services are also expected to give Cape Charles added flexibility in handling development requests and pursuing external funding opportunities to support projects.
Further updates on the work orders and their implementation will be shared as plans move forward.
