CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Police Department has released its weekly activity report covering general law enforcement operations and calls for service as of December 19.
During the week, officers conducted routine law enforcement duties including building checks, foot patrols, traffic summons enforcement, and code violation monitoring.
Police also responded to a wide range of calls for service, reflecting both public safety needs and quality-of-life concerns within the community. Incidents and assistance provided during the reporting period included welfare checks, reports of suspicious activity, intoxicated subjects, and domestic disputes.
Officers assisted other agencies and residents on multiple occasions, including three warrant services, two assists to emergency medical services, two vehicle lock-outs, and assistance to sheriff’s deputies. Additional calls involved a hit-and-run investigation, review of security footage, trespassing, residential alarms, traffic control, and responding to an open door report.
Other responses included handling a disorderly subject, locating a lost dog, addressing a low-hanging cable line, removing a sign blocking a sidewalk, managing a vehicle blocking a driveway, and assisting citizens with various concerns.
