While there were no felony arrests during the month, officers made four misdemeanor arrests, including three for public intoxication and one related to threats to harm. The department also issued 44 traffic summonses and responded to 17 incidents involving golf carts—an ongoing area of focus in the coastal town.
In addition to local calls, officers assisted with eight incidents outside Cape Charles, including seven with the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and one with the Virginia State Police.
Parking enforcement remained a priority, with 99 tickets issued during the month. Officers also conducted 80 building checks and logged 49 hours of foot patrol, along with 32 hours patrolling the Bay Creek community.
Weekly law enforcement activity included routine building checks, traffic enforcement, code violation investigations, and foot patrols. Specific calls throughout the month ranged from noise complaints and suspicious activity to domestic disputes and stolen golf carts.
The department responded to a wide range of community concerns, including assaults, welfare checks, water-related incidents, vehicle accidents, and disputes between neighbors. Officers also handled reports of a possible overdose, alarm activations, and assisted citizens with various needs.
