CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Police Department responded to 88 calls for service in town during the month of March and made three arrests, including one for first-degree murder, according to Police Chief reporting to town officials.
Officers also responded to six calls outside of Cape Charles to assist neighboring agencies. In addition to the felony arrest, police made two misdemeanor arrests, one of which was for public intoxication. The third arrest was for trespassing.
Traffic enforcement remained active, with 47 traffic summonses issued and 10 parking tickets written. Officers also conducted three golf cart-related interactions during the month.
Officers logged 70 hours on foot patrol and three hours patrolling within the Bay Creek community. Police performed 109 building checks to maintain public safety and visibility.
Cape Charles police assisted the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office on four occasions and worked with Virginia State Police on two calls. No assists were recorded for other agencies.
