CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Town of Cape Charles will hold its 18th Annual Blessing of the Fleet ceremony on Thursday, April 25, at 6 p.m. at the Harbor Gazebo, honoring the region’s maritime traditions and local watermen.
The event serves as a time-honored tradition where community members and clergy gather to bless the commercial and recreational fishing fleets, offering prayers for a safe, successful, and fair-weather harvest season. This year’s ceremony continues a legacy of support for the men and women who make their livelihoods on the water.
The public is invited to attend and show appreciation for Cape Charles’ fishing heritage, with town officials encouraging residents and visitors alike to join in the celebration along the town’s scenic waterfront.
