| The Eastern Shore RC&D invites you to sign up for CBF’s 30th Annual Clean the Bay Day at Cape Charles
Clean the Bay Day was started by a group of Hampton Roads residents concerned about trash in 1989. Over the past 30 years Clean the Bay Day has become a Virginia tradition because it’s so simple and so effective. Last year, about 6,000 volunteers participated in the event at 250 sites, both on foot and in boats. Approximately 100,000 pounds of litter and debris were removed along 450 miles of shoreline.
You can be part of something so simple yet so meaningful by registering today. There are many locations to sign up for but the ES RC&D is hoping you will join our Watersheds Roundtable partners by registering at the Kiptopeke State Park location and participating at either the Park or at a very special and new beach site near the Cape Charles Harbor with Kiptopeke’s own “Ranger Bill.”
You will be glad you did! And as Ranger Bill says, even if you can’t come out to help and have a great experience, you can plan to pick up trash that morning wherever you are. It all adds up! |
