  1. The American Experiment has failed.. Well I’d say that’s a negative opinion and an overreaction. I didn’t know we were an experiment, or that someone stuck a fork in all of us. Does my business still exist ? I guess I don’t have to pay taxes any more ?
Even though sometimes I think I need a drink to convince myself too.
Oh, I don’t know. I don’t know why I think I see more emotion creating opinions in these posts than other readers. I seem to think there are some overreactions being written in here……How could we as a society devolve into such a scene ? Well, are we devolving? Or is this simply our continuous evolution ? It appears to me like Americans are being Americans and the whiners just get more attention. I don’t like a lot of the stupidity I read is being played out in many areas, but I think a lot of all that is our press overblowing much of it.
I think I read somewhere, maybe a couple of times, that about 250 years ago some angry upstarts in the 13 British Colonies started yelling and screaming “taxation w/o representation” and were trying to brew tea in Boston Harbor. A few demonstrations like that. The darned rebellious ones were throwing stones, refusing to pay taxes and even, lo and behold, meeting in the streets in crowds and yelling antigovernment slogans ! Can you imagine ! ?
“The un-pious gods of diversity and multi-culturalism are leading us down this path of decline-it is indicative of how we have let other cultures crowd out our own.”
WHAT !! ??? Is that that age old saying “There goes the neighborhood?”
Look, I seriously disagree with a lot of the violent words and actions I hear in the press that take place at some protests these days. It does sound and appear to me like some folks are jamming their liberal agendas loudly down our throats w/o regard for common decency or many of the laws of this fine republic. I think we defined the war 250 years ago. I’m certainly not ready to throw in the towel just because the protesters scream for attention with their 5G weapons of mass communication. That’s for the French to do on their side of the pond.
Ho Hum….and I have to wait til tomw. to see results from Talladega. God Bless America !

  2. When someone “defines” the war and open fire on other Americans and have the “Fort Sumter” moment I look forward to watching the fine men and women of our local law enforcement take them out. No one on the shore has an arsenal that can even come close to what the entire force that our brave men and women of our local law enforcement much less the arsenal available to the fine men and women of the US Military.
I served long enough to hear a bunch of bark about Civil War from civies and pencil pushers and discovered that it is all cowardly BS.

Note: There is something called a metaphor. A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes an object or action in a way that isn’t literally true, but helps explain an idea or make a comparison.

    Here are the basics:

A metaphor states that one thing is another thing
It equates those two things not because they actually are the same, but for the sake of comparison or symbolism
If you take a metaphor literally, it will probably sound very strange (are there actually any sheep, black or otherwise, in your family?)
Metaphors are used in poetry, literature, and anytime someone wants to add some color to their language.

Thanks for the comment, and for making me realize my decision to align with the Navy was the correct one. Also, I would suggest reading Edward Snowden’s book “Permanent Record”, where he correctly states the new battleground is in the intellectual and intelligence arena. No physical weapons will be used in this conflict.
