Back in 1991, career artist Dona Danziger decided to pick up roots and move to the Eastern Shore from Princeton, New Jersey. Falling in love with green, open spaces and the Chesapeake Bay, she brought her talents south, opened CW Tile and Design, and quickly began to transform the Eastern Shore’s notion of how tile works. At the time, there was no showroom for tile, and people had to hike up the road or across the bay just to buy white grout. Since moving here, Dona’s extensive knowledge, creativity and friendly service has made her a unique resource for contractors and DIY’ers.
CW’s lead installer, Jeff Madson, originally from Bozeman, Montana has worked with tile and stone for over 35 years. With a degree in Design from Montana State University, Madson has brought an expanded level of creativity and design aesthetic to the Shore. According to Dona, “He continually keeps abreast of new technology in the trade. Almost anyone can ‘lay tile’ but only an experienced craftsman can ensure that the job is done correctly and will last for a lifetime”. Jeff and Dona have been working together since 2006.
C W Tile and Design offers complementary design services to assist clients in creating their tile layout and guide them through the wide selection of products. Once the client has visited the showroom and selected materials, an appointment for a free estimate can be scheduled. To help clients visualize how their choices will look in their home, CW will provide samples to borrow and “live with.”
Ceramic, porcelain or glass tile for walls, counters or floors are a fundamental part of the business, wood flooring and custom closets are also part of the service, “We will always be in the forefront of selection and installation, that’s just who we are” notes Danziger.
