CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Residents and visitors of Cape Charles are invited to step into the world of coastal research at a special event titled “See What the Scientists See,” hosted by Altitude Gallery on Thursday, January 9, from 5 to 7 p.m.
This engaging event brings together researchers from the Virginia Coast Reserve Long Term Ecological Research (VCR LTER) program, based in nearby Oyster, to share their insights into the dynamic landscapes of the Eastern Shore. Guests will have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one conversations with scientists and learn about their groundbreaking studies on coastal ecosystems.
The evening will also feature the captivating photography of Gordon Campbell, which showcases the beauty and complexity of the coastal regions studied by the VCR LTER team. These striking images provide a glimpse into the unique environments of the Eastern Shore and the crucial work being done to understand and preserve them.
Light refreshments will be served, offering attendees a chance to mingle with researchers and explore the stunning visuals in a relaxed atmosphere. Representatives from participating organizations, including The George Washington University, Boston University, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, University of Virginia, and others, will be on hand to discuss their collaborative efforts.
