Sunday, June 2 4 p.m. – Kosnick, Tarwater Scheduled for Hungars Church Concert
Organist Dr. James Kosnik will perform at Hungars Church. Ally Tarwater will be joining him on the flute.
A meet-the-artists reception will follow in the Church Parish House.Dr. Kosnik is an Old Dominion University Professor of Music and past Chairman of the Music Department.
Prior to joining the ODU faculty in 1982, he served as Chairman of the Music Department at Villa Maria College in Buffalo and Director of Music at St. Joseph’s Cathedral. He received a B.A. Degree in Piano and Organ Performance and an M.A. Degree in Music History from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
He also holds a D.M.A. in Performance and Literature (organ) from the University of Rochester.
Ally Tarwater is a music teacher at Broadwater Academy. She graduated with a major in music education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Miss Tarwater has performed frequently at Hungars and throughout the Shore. In addition to being a flutist, she is an accomplished singer and songwriter.
The Hungars Concert performances are free and open to the public. A free will offering will be accepted to sustain the series in the future.
Hungars is located at 10107 Bayside Road, Machipongo.
