McDonald’s has released a vegan burger in Norway, joining a list of nations like South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
The “Veggie McSpice,” is McDonald’s newest addition to their locations across Norway and is composed of red kidney beans and a blend of vegetables such as carrots, green peppers, and onion. If you order it without cheese, then you’ll be able to say you actually ordered a vegan meal at McDonald’s.
With more folks open to meatless options due to diet, environmental concerns, health, or animal welfare concerns, the McSpice shows that veggie burgers are no longer a fringe trend. The Veggie McSpice is due in U.S. test markets later this year.
