ACCOMAC, Va. — The Martha W. Goodson Center is bringing its Memory Café to the Eastern Shore of Virginia Regional Library & Heritage Center on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The monthly event provides a welcoming space for care partners and individuals experiencing memory loss or other brain changes to connect, share experiences, and enjoy refreshments in a relaxed atmosphere.
Each café session encourages unstructured conversation, helping guests get to know others in the community facing similar challenges. The gatherings are led by trained facilitators, ensuring a comfortable environment for everyone in attendance.
Anyone with memory concerns is welcome, along with care partners and spouses. No RSVP is required, and there is no cost to attend. The Memory Café takes place on the third Wednesday of each month at the library.
The Martha W. Goodson Center specializes in memory care, caregiver support, clinical services, education, and research. By hosting events like the Memory Café, the center hopes to strengthen social connections and support networks for those living with memory loss on the Eastern Shore.
