Across the Bay: VB Mayor Race Heats up as Aaron Rouse to Endorse Jody Wagner

October 11, 2020 by Wayne Creed Leave a Comment

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – October 10, Jody Wagner continues to build momentum as at-large Virginia Beach Councilmember Aaron Rouse, along with Councilmember Guy Tower, members of the faith community, and community leaders plan to endorse Jody Wagner for Virginia Beach Mayor on Saturday morning. Aaron Rouse, former candidate for mayor and the highest vote-getter in the 2018 at-large election, and Councilman Guy Tower, who defeated a 19-year city council incumbent in 2019, will both share why Jody’s experience and leadership is needed on council. The endorsement follows a week of unprecedented support from volunteers and donors from across the city. As of this week, the campaign has received more than 1,000 contributions, more than any other mayoral race in Virginia Beach history.

Wagner is leading a campaign focused on helping working families recover from the recession caused by COVID, improving public schools, and driving economic development that will keep our young talent in Virginia Beach. Jody’s leadership and vision are why she has already been endorsed by Sen. Tim Kaine, Sen. Mark Warner, Congresswoman Elaine Luria, Gov. Ralph Northam, and a long list of other state officials. Rouse’s endorsement may very well be the most significant to help her win in November.
