EASTVILLE, Va. — The Northampton High School girls soccer program swept the district championships Tuesday night, with both the JV and Varsity teams earning decisive shutout victories over rival Nandua.
The Junior Varsity squad started the evening strong, defeating Nandua 3-0 behind goals from Breylan Coates and Amalie Rutschow. The Varsity team followed with a 2-0 win, led by standout Lizeth Panuco, who scored both goals for the Yellow Jackets.
With the wins, both teams were crowned District Champions, capping an impressive season for Northampton’s soccer program.
The Varsity girls now set their sights on the postseason and are preparing to compete in the first round of Regionals next week.
