  1. This anti-pet, anti-pet lover/owner proposal is appalling. I can’t understand why this “can of worms” may slither into law. Reconsider, rewrite, respect our concerns!

  2. “Finally, the ordinance does not mention an exemption for Service Animals, which I believe would be required under Federal Law.”
There doesn’t need to be an explicit exemption, as the ADA makes them exempt already.

  3. Kearn Schemm stop this immediately. Where does it say Town ordinances have to make sense. We will not tolerate that sort of thing in Cape Charles.

  4. The meeting on the Ordinance will be August 1st. Please show up, sign up to speak and let the town council know you oppose a hasty solution of what might not even be a problem.

  5. Bravo to Kehrn! As a responsible dog owner who knows the limitations of her own dog when walking in town, I concur with all of his objections to the proposed leash law. If we must have a leash law (and not just in response to a couple of vigilantes), let’s make sure that the parameters are clearly defined, not overly imposing and respectful of the need for dogs to play and run.
