The Orchestra of the Eastern Shore, under the direction of Dr. Paul Kim , will perform on Friday October 27 at 7:30pm at Cokesbuy Church, Onancock and Sunday, October 29 at 4:00pm at Hungars Episcopal Church, Bridgetown. The concerts will honor the memory of the many musicians who have made great contributions to the musical life of the Eastern Shore. Friday’s concert will be in memory of Rev. Kirk Mariner and Sunday’s concert in memory of Stefan Dulcie. The program will include: Gabriel Faure’s Requiem, op. 48, Felix Mendelssohn’s “It Is Enough” from Elijah, and Franz Schubert’s Salve regina. Soprano Beth Sharpley and baritone Lou Negretti will also perform. There is no cost for admission, however donations to the orchestra are welcomed.
The OES is an ensemble of local musicians that is supported by donations from friends and by major contributions from the United Way of the Eastern Shore, the Town of Onancock, and the Virginia Commission for the Arts. Concertgoers or musicians interested in joining the orchestra can find more information at orchestraes.org or Facebook: Orchestra of the Eastern Shore.
