Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled a seminar, “A Brief History of Industrial Food, Part 2, Big Ag.” The free 90-minute seminar will be held at 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17th in Room 113 of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29316 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.
In this 3-part series John Durmick will discuss the evolution, economics, and challenges of the large-scale industrial food system we all now depend on.
This, Part 2, will review the history of large scale corporate/industrial agriculture and its impact on farmers, food, and rural economies.
Durmick is a (mostly) retired software industry executive, and lives near Nassawadox.
These seminars are occasionally rescheduled on short notice. Prospective attendees are urged to check the Seminar’s website (www.SciPhi.org) shortly before a scheduled date.
Please use the website to inspire you to giving a talk yourself.

Please tell me you are not considering Angelo Manuel.
