A juvenile, which the Mirror has confirmed is a Cape Charles resident, has been arrested and charged with abduction and rape in Northampton County. This according to a press release from Northampton County Sheriff David Doughty.
According to the Sherriff, on Thursday, February 14, the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a sexual assault that occurred at Northampton High School in Eastville.
Both the victim and the suspect were students, and the incident did happen during school hours. Sources tell the Mirror that the assailant allegedly waited outside the classroom for the victim to come out, and then pulled her into an empty classroom.
The juvenile suspect, whose name will not be released, is currently being held at the Norfolk Detention Center.
According to Doughty, the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
Northampton County Public Schools Administration is supposedly providing assistance.
