What’s really funny? Stephen Colbert (white) & his team of writers (almost all white) using a platform owned by a 94-year-old white billionaire (Sumner Redstone) to lecture a black man (Kanye West) about how he should stay in his lane.
Not news really.
To keep men like Kanye in their place and hold on to electoral power, Democrats rely upon the threat of social ostracization to punish independent-thinking black men:
[Partial Transcript from Colbert’s Wednesday night show]: The height of Kanye’s Trump praise has got to be when he tweeted “You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.”
Yes, we have the right to independent thought, and I independently think Kanye has lost his mind. You know what, Kanye, it is true. I am your brother, too. And brother-to-brother I just want to say put the phone down. You could have stopped at ten a.m. with [the tweet] “I’m nice at ping pong.”
What did Kanye do wrong? He made the mistake of supporting the sitting president of the United States who is not a Democrat. As punishment, Colbert used the power of his national television show, and millions of corporate dollars to smear Kanye as crazy (“lost his mind”) and to demand he shut up and stay in his place (“put the phone down,” unless you are going to tweet about ping pong).
How bad is it? Kanye, it appears is only allowed to express himself in prescribed, approved ways.
There was also the false rumor that his support of the POTUS cost Kanye millions of Twitter followers. A Twitter spokesperson confirmed to The Verge that Kanye remains at around 27 million Twitter followers, roughly the same amount he had before he began tweeting.
Kanye West is a cultural icon. His going off script is a real problem for the Democrat Party. Kanye has noted that over last 50 years Democrats have failed black America. Having his point to this fact and argue for an end to the group-think that reliably delivers 90 percent of the black vote to Democrats is a huge problem. If support from that demographic slips 15 or 20 points, well, you see.
The Left Space is not a friendly place for black conservatives. See: Clarence Thomas (sexual predator), Herman Cain (sexual predator), Dr. Ben Carson (“Uncle Tom”).
And it is not just Colbert going after Kanye… see here, look at this attack by a white person in no less than the Washington Post, look here, here, here, here; look at this attack using Kanye’s own family, and another attack from a white man questioning Kanye’s mental health.
Kim Kardashian had to jump in to defend Kanye, “To the media trying to demonize my husband let me just say this… your commentary on Kanye being erratic & his tweets being disturbing is actually scary,” she wrote. “So quick to label him as having mental health issues for just being himself when he has always been expressive is not fair.”
All he is doing is refusing to hate Trump, or Hillary, and telling a truth about Obama, and calling for people to think for themselves, to expand their thought process.
The Trends
Country music singer Shania Twain actually apologized on Sunday for saying that if she had been an American, she would have voted for Trump. That’s literally all she said, and she was bullied into apologizing for it. She’s Canadian for Pete’s sake. And the Left went so ballistic she felt she had to apologize for stating her own personal opinion. When was the last time you heard of a celebrity being forced to apologize for voting for a Democrat?
Former NFL kicker Jay Feely posted an innocent, joke photo to Twitter over the weekend of him standing between his daughter and her prom date while holding a handgun, and joking that he hoped that his daughter would have an awesome time at the dance.
Now that is two people who have been bullied into apologizing last weekend alone simply for saying something that hurt some liberal’s feelings. The problem is that this has become a pattern.
Laura Ingraham apologized to David Hogg a few weeks ago for the crime of saying that he had whined about a college rejection letter. He publicly rejected her apology, continued his boycott against her show’s advertisers, then moved the goalpost and demanded that she apologize to anyone she has ever offended, like LeBron James.
So now here’s a suggestion – stop apologizing to the liberal rage mob. It will never be enough because they don’t want your apology, they want you gone.
If you are a conservative in a ‘fly-over state’, you are hated just for who you are–where you live, the sports you like (hunting), the town you live in, and even your faith. They may profess to love the First Amendment, just so long as you don’t have it.
Like Kanye, don’t apologize to people who are going to despise you no matter what.
